We have a new arrangement in the main room of the store, that will have the marble artists competing for spots in that room.  The artists will now be in the center of the room and the center focus.  The torch demonstration area in the main room is now closer to the center, which should allow more space for visitors to view the demos.   

This gives you an example of the physical improvements to the exhibition space.  Now, let’s talk about the improvements to the media outlets of the show.  We now have a website dedicated to the event, www.marblecrazy.com.  This blog has been created, so that we can talk about the show and share ideas.  Please leave comments!!!  We are broadcasting live video feed during the event, which can be linked to on the Marble Crazy website or you can go directly to  justin.tv .  Also, we have a new e-mail newsletter sign-up box on www.moonmarble.com which we are using to inform about the event among many other things.  Our newspaper advertising for the show has almost doubled as well.

We’re anticipating a great turnout for the show, so make sure you don’t miss the event!

We’ve had three new artists sign up to join us at Marble Crazy since my earlier message.  That makes 22 and we are almost to full capacity!  Year after year, we have a group of very loyal and talented artists return for the show.  They have become very close friends to us through the years.  We add one or two new faces to the show most years.  But this year has seemed to attract a whopping 5 new artists, which makes up almost 20% of the total artists attending the show.  We are very excited to welcome all the new talent as well as reunite with our “tried and true”! 

The usual suspects to Marble Crazy that will be attending again this year include:  Geoffrey Beetem, Drew Fritts, Dan Grumbling, Ernie Kober, Marc Kornbluh, Mark Matthews, John McCormick, Kris Parke, Gateson Recko, David Salazar, Eddie Seese, Bruce Troeh, Aaron West, Brett Young, and Larry Zengel.

Our returning artists that were new to Marble Crazy in 2009 are: Jes Durfee, Dan Neff, and Tom Rink.  Welcome back!

And last but not least, the new folks to Marble Crazy 2010 are: Deanne Chase, Greg Chase, Trey Cornette, Sam Flowers, and Alan Fullrich.

The Moon Marble Company will host 21 artists, who will be demonstrating their glassworking techniques in 4 demonstration areas and as well as selling their marbles.  One of our visiting artists will be demonstrating his reproduction Marble Machine from 1905 as well as a Large Wheel Marble Machine.

On Sunday, March 7th, we will all migrate to the Holiday Inn Olathe for ”Marble Crazy at the Inn”, which is hosted by the Kansas City Marble Collectors Club.  

The Collectors Show features both contemporary and antique marbles for sale, marble identification (for those with old marbles that they would like to know more about) as well as marble games and fun for kids of all ages.
